Dress Code for Dancers

Form-fitting dancewear allows teachers to instantly see a dancer’s posture, hip alignment, knee placement, and core engagement. Loose or baggy clothing hides body lines, making it difficult to correct dangerous habits or improper technique.

Specific shoes (tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop) provide the necessary traction, ankle support, or percussion control. Wearing inappropriate shoes on dance floors can cause slipping or foot strain.
